This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society. The NPS classes will be run under NPS Rules.
All Ponies entered in these Championships must be 4 years old or over and registered in the Pure Bred section of their Mountain and Moorland Breed Society’s Stud Book, part breds are not eligible.
Owners do not have to be members of the NPS for their ponies to enter these classes but they will need to
become Adult Showing members of the NPS to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival which will be held
on 26th April 2008.
All riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year. Riders of small stallions must be 11 years or over, riders of large stallions must be 14 years or over.
Winnings in the 2007/2008 Novice Winter Championships will not debar Novice ponies from the NPS 2008
Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions.
R1 NPS Open Mixed Mountain and Moorland Ridden Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Books of Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D. Rider any age.
The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first six places will qualify
R2 NPS Open Mixed Mountain and Moorland Ridden Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh Section A or B. Rider any age.
The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first six places will qualify
R3 NPS Novice Mixed Mountain and Moorland Ridden Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Books of Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D. Pony not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any open Ridden M&M Classification. Rider any age.

Pony not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any open Ridden M&M Classification. Rider any age.

NPS/www.horsequest.co.uk Mountain & Moorland Ridden Silver Medal Rosette
a) A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by The National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Mountain & Moorland Ridden Sections. Exhibited by an adult/standard member of The National Pony Society. (Champion or Reserve Champion only). Membership Card to be produced in the ring. This section is to be run under NPS Rules.
b) If the Champion pony has already qualified, the Reserve, on production in the ring of their Membership card, will receive the qualifying card. Qualification to go no lower than Reserve Champion.
c) Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the NPS Mountain and Moorland Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in Malvern, providing they send to the NPS Secretariat, the relevant entry fee and qualification card provided with the Silver Medal Rosette

R5 NPS Novice Lead Rein Mixed Pony Mountain and Moorland Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122cms, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Book of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh section A or B. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in a suitable snaffle bridle, the lead rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins to go directly from the bit to the Rider’s hand. Not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any Lead Rein classification.
The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first six places will qualify
R6 NPS Novice First Ridden Pony Mixed Mountain and Moorland Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Book of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh section A or B. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in a suitable bridle. Ponies must NOT be cantered except in their individual Show.
Not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any First Ridden classification.
The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first six places will qualify
R7 NPS Open Lead Rein Pony Mixed Mountain and Moorland Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh section A or B. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

R8 NPS Open First Ridden Pony Mixed Mountain and Moorland Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Book of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh section A or B. Any suitable bridle acceptable. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

Mini Championship - 1st & 2nd placed ponies from the above classes
Rules
1 No substitution/nomination entries permitted
2 The EMWPCA recomend that all entrants carry photocopies of passports for animals they are exhibiting
3 The Judges decision is final. Any objections must be lodged with the Secretary within 10 mins of the class finishing with a deposit of £10 which will be refunded if the objection is sustained
4 Ponies are to be entered in the name of the Legal owner and with their correct registration name and number
5 The EMWPCA accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury however caused
6 Entrants are to provide their own 3rd party insurance cover
7 WPCS/NPS Rules will be adhered to
8 EMWPCA reserve the right to alter classes or judges without notice
9 Classes may be split/amalgamated on the day at the Committee/Judges discretion according to entries forward.
10 In the event of the show being cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control no refunds will be given.
